The noise hit first—loud, aggressive, unnecessary. Music pounded through the walls like a headache I hadn’t asked for. The crowd was worse. Too many people. Too close. Too careless. Bodies brushing past, laughter too loud, perfume mixed with smoke and alcohol in a way that made the air feel heavy.
